Job Duties: Canoesys, Inc. in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is seeking Quality Assurance Analysts III who will utilize advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of computer science and engineering principles and concepts, as well as experience with operating system, program testing, and web platform development software, to assist Project Manager in monitoring activities of project team members, including quality assurance analysts, engineers, and testers, who develop and execute software test plans to identify software problems and their causes. The Quality Assurance Analyst III will perform the following duties and responsibilities: Coordinate design of test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures and monitor and review test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Assist Project Manager in directing and monitoring the development of testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, and usability. Coordinate documentation of software defects, analyze reported issues, and monitor reporting of defects to software developers. Monitor project activities, including the identification, analysis, and documentation of problems/issues with program function, output, online screen, and content. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes. Work with Project Manager to ensure creation and maintenance of databases of known test defects. Assist Project Managers with directing the planning of test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates. Conduct product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential problems. Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and completeness, as well as to mitigate risks. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-degree experience in the job offered or in a related position. Position also requires demonstrable proficiency and knowledge working with the following: i) functional, systems, performance, integration, regression, Black Box, database, White Box, Smoke and User Acceptance (UAT) testing; ii) at least one of the following testing tools: Quality Center, QTP, Test Director, Load Runner, Rational Clear Quest, or Rational Quality Manager; and iii) at least one of the following web applications: IIS, ASP, .net, Java , C#, C/C+, J2EE, EJP, SOAP, JavaScript, VB, VB Script, HTML/DHTML/XML, Servlets, UNIX, Oracle, SQL Server, Unix/Linux, Spring, Hibernate, AJAX, Struts, Web Services, or JQuery. No travel or telecommuting. Position is project-based at various unanticipated work sites within the U.S., and relocation may be required at the end of each long-term project.
